Cranbourne gardens

Hi it’s Sophie and today I am going to talk to you about our trip to Cranbourne gardens.

As a part of our history unit, we are looking at Indigenous Culture. To help with our research, we went to Cranbourne Gardens.

The bus ride was an hour long but it was definitely worth the ride. The first thing we did was meeting the guides our guides name was Steve. Then we went to learn about aboriginal tools like boomerangs, spears and possum skins.

Next we walked to the food garden to learn about indigenous foods and ingredients. Some of the ingredients we learnt about were lemon myrtle smelt nice. The second ingredient we learnt about was native citrus.

Next we went to paint with ochre paint. We covered our hands in the paint and made a hand print on a large rock. Then amazing teacher Mrs Douglas gave us permission to paint on our faces.

Then we went on an amazing scavenger hunt it was very fun.

Then we went to a park then went on the bus to go back to school.

Would you go to Cranbourne gardens?

From Sophie.
